You have the option of whether you want reprint patterns or the original ones that we have listed . If you choose old doll pattern copies, you will receive your pattern printed full size, ready to cut out and use. The directions for cutting, sewing and finishing details are included with most designs. A color copy of the design is also included. All are packaged into a large zip lock plastic bag which you can use for storing the pattern for later use. Some of the antique patterns were printed on very fragile tissue paper. We have endeavored to achieve the exact size by drawing around some of the pattern pieces. In the column on the left, you will find the individual categories. Most of the old patterns were created for a specific doll so we list the doll's name here. When our current stock of reprinted patterns is exhausted, we will sell only original doll patterns. Each example been produced from the antique doll molds. To start with, we use Seeley's French Antique porcelain which we think is the very best available today when reproducing the old dolls. Each doll is fired many times to achieve the fine smooth porcelain base which is then hand painted and fired several times to produce the final effect and presence of the doll. Each doll becomes different from the other, even though the same process is followed and this is exactly how you will find the antique dolls. Each one is different! |
